Practical information
Bicycle maintenance
The safety and reliability of your bike is kept optimal through proper use. Therefore, please read the instruction booklet of the bike. If your bike is in need of maintenance, please contact the Arval driver team on 030 602 41 41. In addition, you can actively contribute to the maintenance of your bike by paying attention to the following:
- Please have maintenance carried out exclusively by one of Arval's selected maintenance partners.
- Regularly check the tire pressure. Our advice is to perform this check at least monthly.
- If you're planning to fit any accessories at a later stage at your own expense, please consult Arval first.
- More handy tips for maintenance can be found on this page.
How to act in case of damage?
- Always call in the police in case of physical injury, theft or vandalism.
- Write down the name and address of witnesses.
- Contact Arval and mail the fully completed and signed claim form within 48 hours to damage.nl@arval.nl.
Replacement bicycle
When repairs to your bike take longer than 24 hours, you are entitled to a replacement bike. If repairs can be completed within 24 hours, a replacement bike is not included.
Usage outside of working hours and by third parties
You're also allowed to use the bike outside of working hours. Use of the lease bike by third parties is also allowed. If it concerns a speed pedelec, the rider must be in possession of a valid moped driving license (please check validity within the Netherlands) and handle the bike carefully.
Can I take my bike with me on vacation (abroad)?
You can take your lease bike with you on vacation, including abroad. However, outside of the Netherlands you are not entitled to breakdown assistance from the ANWB. Make sure you have a bike carrier that is suitable for the weight of your bike.
Breakdown
You are entitled to daytime and nighttime assistance from the Wegenwacht (ANWB roadside assistance) and the ANWB in the Netherlands. In case of a breakdown on the road, please contact Arval on +31 (0)30 602 41 41.
Charging and loading costs
Charging an electric bike is your own responsibility. The costs of this are therefore not reimbursed.
